Overview
• Share brand updates, upcoming events, education courses and product launches with B2B and B2C press via press releases and e-blasts. • Work alongside other departments and external companies to manage product stock, professional kit requests, and the production of creative PR Mailers for stylists, salons, and top-tier influencers. • Grow and build relationships with stylists, salons, influencers and press at shoots, conferences, and industry events. • Track and report on social media and press coverage with internal reports to my team, brand, and global L’Oréal Professionnel Teams. • Provide insight into our MIM and MMI results against competitor results in weekly updates and monthly reports. • Manage the team budget tracker, raise POs, and resolve any payment queries from suppliers.
Skills
I have developed my communication, time management and organisational skills. In the last year I have worked on my networking skills, confidence and learnt how communications applies to an international brand. I have learnt how to use platforms such as MIM, MMI, Sprinklr, Traackr and Iron Clad.
Responsibilities
I was given large amounts of responsibilities from the start of the placement. I was given projects that I had to work on by myself and make sure I met deadlines set by my manager. I was very involved in a large number of campaigns and projects allowing me to learn about other aspects of the business including marketing and finance.
Support & Guidance
I had a large support network whilst at L'Oréal. If I was ever in need of support I could turn to my line manager, fellow interns and other team member for help. Most people in the L'Oréal family are super friendly and will do their best to help you.
Culture
The company atmosphere is generally a happy and welcoming environment. There were regular opportunities to network with other interns, different departments and with my team. There is an annual citizen day where you can volunteer with your team for charity and many socials and charity sales held within different divisions. I also took part in the L'Oréal Netball group which was a great opportunity to meet with other interns.
Your Impressions
I have had an amazing time at L’Oréal and I feel I have learnt huge amounts about communications as an industry, advocacy, PR within an organisation and how an international brand operates. I really enjoyed the company culture and being able to work within a postive, happy team. I would definitely recommend this placement to others.
Yes
I would recommend taking every opportunity and making the most of the experience. If I reapplied I would make sure I stayed calm during the interview process and on my first day. Make sure you talk to as many people as possible and try to build a network within the company so you have a strong support group and hopefully find some friends for life like I did!
