Overview
My duties extended from more adhoc requests such as creating codes, assisting business partners with orders, and sending our influencer packages to working on campaigns and new product launches. This meant creating/localising assets, building copy, and coming up with mailer concepts and general launch ideas. On ecom I would constantly audit and optimise our brand hubs by researching how we could best develop our pages so they were as engaging as possible.
Skills
The three main skills L'Oreal has instilled in me is to be super organised, Creative and Forward-Thinking, and Reactive: Super Organised - in Marketing specifically there are often many moving plates at once. Thus staying super up to date with everything and communicating properly was key Creativity - be bold with ideas. After all L'Oreal is based on being pioneering Reactive - acting quickly to requests and acting on opportunities as they arise
Responsibilities
At L'Oreal nothing was out of my reach when it comes to opportunity. From leading on launch activations, the currently sampling campaign I am closing, and to taking a lead on ecom and our brand pages, I have been able to really develop my skills. From this responsibility I have been able to develop my ability to act creatively however by basing this off logic and data.
Support & Guidance
The time investment from colleagues at L'Oreal is incredible! Having worked alongside all functions such as PR, Supply, Finance, Commercial etc. I have spent lot's of time with individuals who have showed me the integrating work all of these functions play in a brand. My line manager has also been super supportive with my aspirations by allowing me to lead on projects whilst also offering my guidance when the work has felt overwhelming.
Culture
The culture is buzzing. There is always a million things going on at one time however it all adds to the excitement of working on a brand. People are also super talented at their job and invested in what they do which makes working for the company inspiring.
Your Impressions
Overall I have had a blast on my placement! It gives a great insight into how a brand is constantly developed, especially by allowing you to support in most of the initiatives it runs. The people are super diligent at what they do which has made the environment super engaging to be in.
