Overview
This role will focus around managing orders, deliveries and disputes for key accounts. You will collaborate with commercial, ops and flows and the customers to grow accounts. You get the chance to assist your team with larger accounts where you can learn SIT and KPI reporting and more to further develop your analytical skills. You will also help out on ecommerce and manage Salesforce, daily reporting, and processing returns.
Skills
Exponential growth in the reporting element- advanced Excel skills, PowerBI, KPI, flash reports, SAP- which are transferrable in any job. There is a huge focus on educating employees on implementing sustainability within supply chain and this has lead to me managing projects around this topic. Learning communication styles and techniques have helped me gained the ability to negotiate with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
Responsibilities
My role was focused around being a support to both B2B and D2C which most of my colleagues will only work in one area, so I was given a lot of responsibility and trust to manage both sides of my accountabilities. I managed 2 projects from start to finish alongside fulfilling my basic responsibilities allowing me to understand my management style. Throughout, I gained 7 new key accounts to manage showing my team trusted me.
Support & Guidance
The entire CSC and CC team were so welcoming and we really promote a space where everyone can ask for help and encourage others. My line managers constantly offered me support and showed that they cared about me beyond just my work. L'Oréal offer a vast amount of support with the mentor programme, online learning courses, one point lessons etc.
Culture
Trafford is a really friendly and relaxed environment and with a smaller number of staff, you will get to chance to network with people outside of your function/division. There is still a huge pride in creating a strong community at Trafford and I partook in the charity committee and helped with events we put on. There is a lack of opportunity for interns outside of Hammersmith to fully get involved with intern socials though.
Your Impressions
L'Oreal really helped me grow as a person, both professionally and personally. I had the opportunity to explore my interest in supply chain and learn about my personality in the workplace and view all the different ways of working. The skills and knowledge I have learnt are invaluable going forward and the company has helped me launch my future career opportunities. The people are incredible and supportive!
Yes
Understanding and reflecting on yourself will do you well in this role. No one expects you to be perfect; managers want to see that you are someone who will take responsibility no matter the outcome, your ability to work with others in a team, and also what you still need support on. Being honest with feedback will give you the opportunities to foster further learning and development- the whole purpose on a placement year!
