Overview
The day-to-day tasks whilst working within the Cash & Bank team include; online banking reports, bank reconciliations, invoice processing and supplier statement reconciliations. Also, banking and allocating cheques are done twice a week. On the management accounts team, regular tasks include balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings, as well as any projects, such as cleaning up accounts, assigned. Tasks differ during month end.
Skills
From the tasks within my roles, i feel I've gained analytical skills, attention to detail and problem solving skills. Also importantly ive developed my team working skills interacting and working on tasks with colleagues, as well as organisational and prioritization skills working towards month end deadlines.
Responsibilities
I was given genuine responsibility throughout my placement, including deadlines for my own tasks to meet each month.
Support & Guidance
I've received constant support and guidance from both my line managers and team managers throughout my placement. I've felt completely comfortable to ask any questions I may have had.
Culture
Volvo has such a welcoming and inclusive culture and atmosphere and I was made to feel very comfortable from my first day. Everyone is very supportive and always there for help. In general, Volvo has been a very enjoyable place to work.
