  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

    • The programme took place over two days, where trainees, partners and external speakers spoke to us about a career in law . We got to do interactive legal workshops as well and even had a fun night out playing indoor golf!

    • Yes, I learnt about arbitration as well as how a global law firm enables efficient operations in all of its offices.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

    • It was extremely valuable as personally, I was not satisfied with the amount of information I found out about being a solicitor online and so going into an office and hearing first hand experiences helped clarify the existing legal specialties as well as any future career opportunities.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

    • The graduate recruitment team were especially welcoming and made sure that we were comfortable asking any types of questions. The trainees and partners were also very open and honest about their experiences.

    Your Impressions

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I honestly enjoyed A&O First more than any other insight scheme I participated in. The general atmosphere was very focused on easing us into the industry and did not feel competitive at all. In retrospect, I look back at the people I met and my overall experience with a lot of joy and am very excited to meet everyone again in our get together in September.

    • Make sure to be really outgoing and do not be scared to ask any type of questions - the graduate recruitment team make clear that the experience is yours to do what you want with it so make sure to get out there!
