Overview
The role encompasses a wide array of engineering roles. Throughout the placement I have rotated through a variety of departments, covering a wide array of responsibilities from current product support through to new product design.
Skills
I have developed a large number of core engineering skills, alongside personal and professional business skills.

Yes, I was working throughout on real world projects, with real responsibility and deadlines
Support & Guidance
Lots, as well as department managers, there was a support network of placement student managers and mentors in place to provide support, along with the relevant HR functions.
Culture
Cummins fosters an environment of caring and professionalism, and I was always greeted with a friendly conversation/advice when needed

I enjoyed the whole experience, and would have no hesitation in returning to the company.

If you have an interest in the automotive industry, power generation of mechanical engineering there is no better place. Make sure you have prepared on the specific business area for your interview, so you know the specific products/areas you will be working on.
