Overview
-I am based inside of the eCommerce Trading team -Here I am tasked with a few key reports such as tracking the movement of shipping containers -To set up these reports I use a combination of Excel and a software called Alteryx -I also have ad-hoc projects that involve building KPI trees for our team or automating tasks that were previously tedious manual jobs
Skills
-Massively improved my knowledge and experience using Excel -Learnt skills in Power Query's and Coding -Learnt Alteryx coding -Improved my Business etiquette -Increased my confidence and ability to talk in front of people
Responsibilities
I was given a lot more responsibility than I previously would have imagined. I was so happy to be treated like a permanent member of the team.
Support & Guidance
I was initially placed with a mentor which gave me a lot of confidence when asking questions. I also found it easy to ask my direct lead questions at any occasion.
Culture
Aldi consistently set up charity events each week and made sure everyone felt included. There were also social events and team building exercises staged.
Your Impressions
I would say it has been the best decision I have made in my education so far. The experience and skills I have gained will massively boost me in my future career. I would recommend this placement to any one searching. I would definitely consider going back in the future
Yes
In the interview stage, make sure you've done your research on Aldi and how they are different to other supermarkets. As there might be questions based on this during the assessment centre. Try to make an impression with everyone you meet. As each of the teams are intertwined one way or another so its best to get to know everyone as best as you can.
