Business Insight
Excellent. The Summer Scheme brought together interns from different teams and backgrounds, mingling together, and provided insight into the various paths available from any situation. Different methods were employed, including face to face contact and presentations. The programme was structured and extensive.
Culture
This was my first time working in a large company. I found the culture in the planning department to be relaxed and friendly, though this is not necessarily the case in other departments. There is significant in-team and also cross-team dialogue. It can be harder to get to know colleagues who are sitting farther away, but the open plan office mitigates this.
Your Impressions
The support and opportunities provided were excellent. I am very satisfied with the programme. Personally, I developed existing skills more than new ones. More thought could have been given within the team to how to take interns to site visits, other teams, new projects etc. to tailor the development of interns with prior experience.
Yes
Be as honest and friendly as you can. The specific roles which I was offered at Savills all came from interviews where I was able to build a rapport with the interviewers.
