    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • I would attend calls with my mentor regarding their above and beyond projects. I proactively messaged different employees from PwC so I could explore different areas of Management Consulting and listening to some of the projects they worked on and their journey at PwC. My colleague and I worked on a project, daily, where we corrected the formatting and its presentation so it would be ready for delivery.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I developed new software skills such as understanding the use of Canva further. I developed my existing skills regarding the use of Google, I was able to send a Google Meet invitation to an associate I wanted to communicate with. My virtual communication and teamwork skills definitely improved as I worked well with my fellow women in business colleague. My back on back meetings led to my time management skills improving to ensure good punctuality

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • It was the most exciting experience! I was able to understand the flexibility there is within consulting at PwC, how employees can explore G&HI, finance and student recruitment during their time at this firm. It allowed me to understand the extensive support PwC provides to their employees as well as flexibility. The roles allow you to do projects that you are interested in which is definitely a plus!

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I loved how friendly the environment was! I felt very comfortable during the whole experience as my mentor, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], made me feel extremely comfortable and confident in what I was doing. She constantly involved me in calls and meetings and therefore I felt very included. Also just generally watching the different employees at PwC communicating in a very friendly manner was lovely to see, there was not a sense of fear or superiority.

  • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC
  • I would advise them to be themselves and resilient. The process may appear long however the experience is definitely worth it therefore they should preserve and work hard within the whole application process. I would tell them to research the firm so they can understand more about what they do and understand the values that they hold- this would also be so they understand whether they feel compatible to the firm as well.
