    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • The programme involved having mentors from the line of service who you would shadow during meetings, gaining opportunities to network, gaining an insight into the company and the different clients they work with. Over the 3 days you also had downtime to look at different resources from the company and began with a thorough induction to welcome you in to the programme. You were given opportunities to interact with various different roles in the service.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The opportunity gave a really good chance for me to develop my networking skills. Everyone was really nice and took the time to explain concepts and give an insight into their role and the work they do. You also got insight into the everyday roles of someone in audit across all the different grades which painted an accurate picture of the job.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • I think it was interesting as I didn't have too much understanding of the role previously. When I started networking with people then I was able to understand more what the work was like and what roles were available.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Everyone who I had the chance to speak to spoke highly of the company and the one thing everyone agreed on was that the people are what make the company. Everyone was very friendly and had a genuine passion for the work they did. Through looking at resources and through session I was able to learn exactly how they look after their people through networks and mental health support.

    Your Impressions

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed it as much as I could due to it being online. I think if the process was in person I would've been able to learn more as there was a lot of downtime between sessions and once you had looked through the resources there wasn't much else to do.
