    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • The insight starts with an induction session where we meet a business representative of WiB. I then get introduced to my mentor who assigned me tasks for the next few days and setup networking calls with other business representatives in the business. Last day I presented my work to a senior manager, received feedback and did some more networking calls. I facilitated the reflection session, leading conversations on our feedback and reflection of the programme. Overall, everyday we are occupied with tasks, resources and meetings to attend. There was a chance to work shadowing as well.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have improved my communication skills a lot due to how the programme was set out. There were a lot of one to one meetings with mangers and directors where I get to ask questions, chat and share opinions on topics that I am curious about. The programme forced me to become proactive with my day and how I use the opportunities given. I also improved public speaking and presentation skills when doing the presentation as part of my tasks.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • It was great learning about the business especially the people, culture and their values. Each person has a different journey and it was great to hear them speak about themselves and how they have developed through out the years. Seeing employees progressed and striving for their best is really inspiring. It was also great to learn about the potential roles available. I now understand more about the business structure and how risk line of business works within PwC.

There is a high emphasis on wellbeing and talking about, having an open conversation about mental health and wellbeing is super great. There is a lot of training and sessions available as well as resources available for people who might need it. It is super important in a big firm to care about employees.

  • I really enjoyed every part of it. It was super useful and I was able to make meaningful connections during the programme. My mentor was really helpful and supportive which made me feel super welcome and supported through out the programme. • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC
  • Others applying to PwC should prepare yourself for the assessment day because it is the most crucial part determining whether you get an offer or not. It is a jam-packed day with a lot of work scenarios as well as interviews and group work. To be able to work collaboratively with others, show leadership and finish all tasks on time. To show that you are keen to curious and show your interest. The first few tests are quite intuitive.
