Overview
The internship started with an induction which included setting up the online technology systems PwC uses and informing us what to expect on a day-to-day basis. The virtual experience meant that we were on calls via Google Meet throughout the internship, which entailed Q&A's, networking sessions with associates to partners and practical experiences working on the different divisions in the Deals Line of Service.
Skills
- Improved networking skills - Ability to manage time better - Working on group-focused tasks as opposed to individual tasks
Business Insight
It was interesting to hear that many senior associates had the opportunity to switch roles to a completely different department. The advice given on the potential roles within PwC was desirable, with the best piece of advice being to balance specialising and variety in business roles.
Culture
All of the staff were very friendly, understanding and provided guidance to all interns in the programme. When Q&A sessions had ran out of time they were more than happy to answer any further questions via social media (such as on LinkedIn).
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience - it gave a deep insight into the culture at PwC as a potential new joiner post university. It also gave me a great understanding of the divisions and lines of service I would want to embark on should I accept a job role from PwC.
