    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • On a day to day basis, I would run experiments contributing to the development of CGT assets. I also ran experiments to develop my project for the year creating a new method of analysis for CGT assets. My role consisted of a lot of troubleshooting experiments and running them again till the desired results were acquired. I would then analyze the data and write up reports for my experiments.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I learnt a whole new set of skills both technical and non-technical. Skills such as time management, teamwork, organization, communication, and more were developed on a daily basis through meeting new people, meetings, and working collaboratively with other co-workers. Technical skills I developed were data analysis, report writing, and developing my skillset with PCR systems (ddPCR and PCR).
