Overview
My role on a day to day basis varied. Depending on the project / role I was doing. There is not rigorous set of repetitive tasks to complete which is a bonus
Skills
I have developed communication and presentation definitely due to exposure to clients. I would say I have learnt time management where I was juggling multiple projects and different teams at once.
Responsibilities
I was given so much responsibility. Within 2 weeks, I was presenting to major clients with my team. Within a few months, I was in client calls on my own leading them gathering information from them.
Support & Guidance
I had 3 managers. A task manager, A Foundation manager and A project manager. The support I received was great, each manager all help you in different ways. It was also great being able to go back into the office and receive support that way.
Culture
The company culture is one of the best i’ve experienced. This is one of the real bonuses of IBM. The culture and support system is second to none for interns with loads of fun events outside of work and great opportunities.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement alot. I would highly recommend a placement at IBM due to the relaxed company culture yet the responsibility you are given. It is a great mix and perfect for an intern at their stage of their career.
Yes
I would give the advice of be yourself. Stay grounded. In the assessment centre research some tips that they like to see and try to implement them. Try to speak about yourself and what you’ve accomplished in life rather than boring educational and work achievements (even though they’re important) IBM are much more invested in you as a person.
