Skills
Stakeholder management has been a key aspect of my role, involving constant communication with members of the business, including graduate focals and Talent Acquisition. I have dedicated myself to deeply understanding the requirements of over 35 practices. I have taken leadership of other interns to ensure the desired results of a swift recruitment process are achieved, including organising the strategic screening of over 750 external applications. Accurate data production and analysis is critical. I have ensured accuracy with thorough reconciliation and automation - providing daily and weekly reports on pipeline data, recruitment statistics and more to the Programme Lead for use up to a global level.
Responsibilities
I have offered a record number of over 200 graduates for the programme. I have overcome a variety of challenges, including changing business requirements with hiring numbers and increased external competition. I have approached each business objective as a personal goal, taking as much dedication as necessary to fulfil the requirements. I have ensured accuracy with thorough reconciliation and automation - providing daily and weekly reports on pipeline data, recruitment statistics and more to the Programme Lead for use up to a global level.
Support & Guidance
The support from my team was fantastic, I always felt I could go to my task manager with any issues I faced - whether they were in my personal life or work related queries. I did not feel as close to Foundation as some - with the changes in Foundation managers half way through the year, it decreased the opportunity for the manager to see our development and establish a rapport. Sometimes, it also feels as if the Foundation intern team is very 'clique-y' and not welcome to those not in their immediate friendship groups.
Culture
I did not feel as close to Foundation as some - with the changes in Foundation managers half way through the year, it decreased the opportunity for the manager to see our development and establish a rapport. Sometimes, it also feels as if the Foundation intern team is very 'clique-y' and not welcome to those not in their immediate friendship groups. I avoided some Foundation initiatives/communities as calls I had joined in the past gave very 'laddish' impression.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement year with the team I worked with and I look forward to hopefully returning as a graduate in the same business area in 2023. The level of responsibility in my role was great and I felt my work and input was really valued in my team. I would say that this responsibility definitely surpassed my expectations of the role prior to joining. Company Culture: I have felt very welcomed by all levels of employees in my area of the business. As expressed above, I felt the Foundation environment was not as welcoming, but I look forward to progressing into the same area I have worked in this year on my return.
Yes
Assessment centre advice - do your research on the company and potential areas of interest. Express your passion and confidence. Preparing for day one - try and do a bit of research on the area you are joining prior to joining and link up with the intern previously in your role. What inspired you to join? - the team I interviewed with for my specific role was fantastic and very welcoming and gave me the impression it was a team I would love to join.
