Overview
Developer advocacy role tasks include but are not limited to exploring new technologies to work with the product, explaining developers how to create quickstart applications, and staying on top of new technology trends to reach out to new audience.
Skills
I developed great researching and problem-solving skills due to the nature of the role. I was able to work on my communication skills as this is a core skills that needs practicing as a Developer Advocate, whether when seeking solutions for problems or explaining how-to's to developers.
Responsibilities
I was able to undertake scrum master responsibilities alongside conducting weekly playback meetings for the team. Besides my day-work, I was given the responsibility to be the point-of-contact for interns to seek answers to any questions they have as well as maintain contact within the cohort throughout remote and in-person working. Finally, I was able to undertake extraprofessional project opportunities where I had all the responsibility for the outcome of.
Support & Guidance
I received various kind of support throughout my placement regarding my day-work, extra-professional projects, and miscellaneous inquiries. Whenever I needed help, there were always someone that helped me or redirected me to someone that could.
Culture
It had the corporate company atmosphere but this did not stop the company culture to feel like a big family where everyone is looking after each other and want everyone to be the best version of themselves.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it very much and believe that it was one of the greatest decisions I have made during my professional career. The experiences I gained throughout the year were extremely valuable towards my career goals.

Try to make the best out of the year you have by getting involved in stuff that interests you. Use this opportunity to discover what you like and dislike as well as develop your hard and soft skills. Have fun as much as you can and use the perks of being involved in a corporate culture!
