Overview
I worked in the Marketing team in the Europe Office, working with other divisions and European subsidiaries to deliver cross-category, pan-European campaigns. I also worked to plan and pilot new sell-out solutions to drive sales and conversion.
Skills
I now have a lot more confidence in my ability to successfully communicate with a variety of different internal and external stakeholders at senior levels. I also now can plan and deliver marketing playbooks to guide key teams to deliver a successful campaign.
Responsibilities
Despite there being a lot of opportunities for it, I wasn’t given much responsibility during my placement. My manager changed a few times, so it took a while to build a relationship with the new managers where they trusted my skills and work.
Support & Guidance
There was a good two-week induction at the beginning of the placement, but after that the support and guidance was limited, unless you specifically reached out to ask for it.
Culture
The company culture is tough and very fast paced
Your Impressions
There were elements of my placement that I did enjoy, but overall this was very different to what I expected and I didn’t enjoy the experience as much as I thought I would.
Yes
You need to be passionate about the industry, and be prepared to be treated like a real member of the team.
