Overview
Role involves a initial 3 month training period, followed by 6 months where you work as an allocation analyst as part of a team in the merchandising function. The final stage of the placement is 3 months in buying where you shadow a buyer in the market.
Skills
Developed my analytical skills and excel skills. Learnt a number of communication skills.
Responsibilities
In the merchandising part of the placement you are given a lot of responsibility looking after a department. Responsible for analysing reports, feeding it back to your team on a daily basis as well as allocating stock to stores. The buying part of the placement is more of a shadow role so there is less responsibility but still very immersed in the role.
Support & Guidance
The support and guidance was excellent throughout. During training I had a weekly one to one with my line manager and after the training period we caught up every two weeks.
Culture
Really good culture and always a great atmosphere whenever the office was busy
