Overview
Joined an associate in Latham & Watkins’s corporate department: undertaking legal research, document review, and drafting. I investigated which business structure would be most appropriate for three individuals looking to start a business and considered why private equity clients are often reluctant to invest in limited liability partnerships. Moreover, I also worked on a Management Incentive Plan (MIP) Term Sheet Cross Reference and aligned it with the corresponding clauses in the target’s Articles of Associate and Shareholders’ Agreement.
Skills
Improved my attention to detail and really simply learnt more about commercial law in general.

It was great to gain such an in-person insight- one which the firm offered in a very transparent and honest way.

I would suggest do a lot of research and the firm and really understand how the process works (i.e. reach out to people at the firm) and understand what makes you stand out as an applicant.
