Overview
The first week in London consists of very interesting talks from different fee earners in the firm, giving you a real insight into DLA Piper and its strong values. The second and third weeks in the regional office consists of different tasks which reflects the type of work which trainees take on, such as drafting documents or cover letters. You are very well supported in carrying out these tasks, and everyone is very approachable.
Skills
One of the workshops during the week in London taught me how to network more efficiently, which I was immediately able to apply. This experience has undoubtedly enhanced my skillset. I have been able to harness my attention to detail and apply it to real-life work in a commercial setting. I have also been able to draw on my people-skills to foster relationships and build rapport with different people in the office.
