Overview
Keep track and Raise PO's, make sure databases are up to date, sending products from the office via DSV, deal with any in- store issues that may have arisen and update the external teams and also internal teams, also manage store lightboxes- ensuring these are up to date in store and in the database. Finally, help with upcoming launches, putting together how products would look on shelves in store.
Skills
I have developed skills on Excel, Adobe softwares, many internal new softwares. I have also developed many communication skills through visiting external suppliers and taking part in major store installations.
Responsibilities
I was given a very high responsibility as I was looking after budgets within our brands and making sure store light boxes are updated correctly. I also had to place orders for items needed for installations- this would have been very detrimental to our installs if this was done incorrectly.
Support & Guidance
I received a high amount of support and guidance from my own managers in particular- I had weekly meetings with them to update them on workload/ what I need to work on, which made me feel supported through the internship.
Culture
I could not praise the culture at L'Oreal enough, the staff were so welcoming from the get go. L'Oreal really is a great company to work for- they always put their staff first and this was shown through my internship. They are always finding ways to better the working environment for employees which consisted of regular meetings to ensure these employee needs are met.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship year- I was given every aspect of experience I could have hoped for. I have made some amazing friends and amazing memories. There were struggles throughout the year, however these were easily overcome and helped me with my own confidence when encountering future struggles.
Yes
Be prepared to have a large responsibility within your internship- it will be worth it but you are a big part of the business so make sure you are prepared for this. I would also say (not to be cheesy) but say 'yes' to absolutely everything and put yourself out of your comfort zone. You will make the most of your experience and be noticed if you do this.
