HRM Intern Review

My role was very varied, the topics I worked on included, absence, admin, personal development , recruitment and associate questions. On a day-to-day basis I would mainly do admin work which included electronic filling, sending emails. Absence management, dealing with associate queries and supporting the team with work they were doing

I have learned how a business operates as a whole. I have become more professional and developed my people skills. My confidence has grown massively, this was mainly due to doing presentations and becoming more confident in my own abilities. I have also developed my verbal and written communication, Decision making skills and the accuracy of my work has improved massively.

I was not micro managed and I had the trust if the team to produce the work on time and to a good standard. I was also given the responsibility of producing charts and reports relating to absence. In addition, I lead meeting around absence

I was given a lot of support and guidance, i potentially did not use it to the best ability, but if I needed it I knew it was there.

The company culture was great and the general atmosphere was ok. I did my placement during a tough period where there was a lot of volatility and uncertainty. so the atmosphere was affected due to that
