Overview
First week: training and networking. 2nd-4th week - shadowing, intern presentation, assisting on client work, assisting with research and presentations.
Skills
Learnt more about finance and accounting. Data handling and presentation skills developed.
Responsibilities
Given some responsibility to produce work and exposed to wider projects.
Support & Guidance
Had a buddy and a career coach. Career coach was difficult to communicate with. Many people happy to help but had to reach out to many people to be given work. There was some structure lacking.
Culture
Good culture and atmosphere- relaxed in terms of speaking to people higher above you. Diverse workplace. Some social and networking events but varies widely on team.
Your Impressions
It provided good insight and most people were very helpful and welcoming. The internship was very self led which made it difficult to have the right amount of work to do - varied a lot between no work and many projects to juggle.
Yes
Ask questions and be enthusiastic.
