Overview
In my role you talk to many areas of the business to relay requirements to different teams, you also do data analysis to identify areas that need help and then connect with the right people to support those areas.
Skills
I have developed some new Excel skills and learnt to use Tableau business information software. I have also learnt skills surrounding people management for example how to run meetings and properly write minutes/invites.
Responsibilities
I was given charge of a project to automate internal website monitoring which required me to setup meetings and coordinate tasks with other employees.
Support & Guidance
I was fortunate to have a very enthusiastic line manager as well as a couple of directors who mentored and guided me through the internship.
Culture
Overall the atmosphere is very positive, sometimes things can get a little cringe with PR stuff but for the most part I enjoyed the work environment.
Your Impressions
The actual work I did was not as challenging as I thought and more responsibility to make tangible improvements would have been nice. However, the work I was given had a decent amount of meaning and the people were the best part especially networking. Unfortunately at the start it was very boring due to waiting for requests for even the most basic things like Python.
Yes
Do not go in thinking you will be challenged, you will likely be given fairly manual tasks, focus on the people.
