Overview
It is usually, working on data analytics or software development. I am also expected to interact with other employees to discuss what they do in the company to gather a greater understanding of my role and the role of the department. The work day starts at 9am and ends at 5pm.
Skills
My Python skills have developed further, as well as my usability and user design knowledge. My interpersonal/ communication skills are improved everyday as this is a very team focused department. I learned new skills in various development languages.
Responsibilities
A lot of responsibility but nothing i couldn't handle. I was assigned User Interface development, tasked to design the whole user interface from scratch to actual development and work on back-end development a few bits here and there.
Support & Guidance
A lot of guidance as we had multiple senior employees in the team and i could ask them any questions i wanted and consult them on ideas i had. There was nothing which was considered a 'dumb' question and anything could be asked.
Culture
Very laid back. Work was expected to be done but no one would constantly demand it to be done quicker/faster. People would not talk badly or aggressively, and were very open to conversation. If you had a problem, people were there to listen and try to fix the issue
Your Impressions
i absolutely loved the internship. It very pleasant and i did recommend it to other people. I learned a lot and hope to be able to come back for a graduate program. I loved the people there and the work done was extremely interesting.
