Overview
Working on Audit Review, including analytics, minutes review and populating numbers. General support for team with tasks that I could carry out with more basic level knowledge of software applications.
Skills
Communication and team work skills. Learnt how to use Audit specific tools through training.
Responsibilities
Yes, assigned a client team in the first week, and worked with them the whole duration. Was given enough responsibility within reason of my capabilities, only being an intern and not having full knowledge of the software used. However, I felt included in the work, and was able to ask for more if I finished early.
Support & Guidance
Had a buddy and career coach throughout the internship, but could also easily speak to my team members, and other interns if I had queries.
Culture
Very sociable, with welcome events for the interns to integrate with the wider social, as well as with each other. Also given an outreach Dragon's Den challenge to complete with Interns across the country. Had golf and tennis social playing which any employee could take part in.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the internship as I learnt a lot about the industry of Audit, and PwC itself. I hope to receive a grad offer to return, as I felt the company culture was good and an enjoyable place to work!
Yes
Make sure you research the news in the industry recently, and have an understanding of the line of service you apply to. Don't worry too much if you feel overwhelmed in the beginning as everyone is willing to help!
