Overview
Support my assigned team with various aspects of the audit process. Review financial statements and identify any potential misstatements in these records. This includes taking samples from documentation and verifying these samples have the required evidence (e.g. invoices)
Skills
Excel skills went up a lot (it is the main tool that is used). Learn to communicate effectively with team and client.
Responsibilities
A fair amount of responsibility - we are expected to do the work correctly and it does count towards the final result, but mainly doing smaller tasks. It is expected that if you are unsure what you are doing you ask so as not to do something wrong.
Support & Guidance
Everyone in the office made it clear from the start that we could ask any of them for help, the atmosphere is one of learning so people are more than happy to talk you through anything you are unsure about. This goes for managers, senior associates, and associates alike.
Culture
Really friendly and supportive - strong learning culture so will challenge you but also give you the support needed to complete
Your Impressions
Really good opportunity and a brilliant group of people.
Yes
The application process is long but stick with it as it is a good opportunity - you are fairly likely to be offered a graduate role as the application process for the internships and grad roles are the same
