Overview
Generating reports on a regular or ad-hoc basis, and providing advice on business processes to people across the business. Process Management, to ensure critical business tools are working as intended, and navigating the business to understand and fix any issues should they arise.
Skills
Yes, predominantly excel and salesforce skills. There is also room for training through FDM should you wish to expand your skillset further. Stakeholder management is also a huge component, and isn't something you can really understand until you've done it for a while. I've also developed greater interpersonal skills, as the nature of the job involves talking to loads of different people across the whole business.
Responsibilities
To start with no, but I was given more responsibility towards the end of my placement. I do wish it had come sooner though
Support & Guidance
Varying degrees of support. I would say I received the most support from the people in my team directly, and people were always patient when I first started. It was definitely a supportive environment, though guidance overall was fairly limited.
Culture
The atmosphere was good, and the culture is decent. The office is very open, so there's a big mix of seniority on the main floor, which creates a nicer, more transparent vibe in the office.
Your Impressions
Overall I've very much enjoyed it. I've met a lot of great people, and have been given the opportunity to learn from many experienced people in their respective fields, alongside the opportunity to travel a different office on the other side of the country. Though not without its faults, I've enjoyed the placement overall.
Yes
The interview will feel open, but remember to stay professional. The interview process isn't as harsh as other companies, but it involves a different kind of difficulty. Show that you have the potential, but also a personality and eagerness to learn.
