Improve my confidence in communicating face to face with more senior colleagues and key project stakeholders. - Proficient with presenting, reporting and analysing data using the core business applications (SalesForce, Power BI and Microsoft Suite) - Understand the appropriate conventions for communicating with external stakeholders in achieving business development goals
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given important roles on projects which helped to change processes within the business. For example, we changed our interaction with Alumni in the sense of career tracking and CRM recording. I also deliver on numerous important internal reports for senior stakeholders every week.
Support & Guidance
My first 2 months were well supported and guided by expert trainers in Excel, Salesforce and PowerBI which set me up well for the work that I did once moving over to help the Sales Teams specifically.
Culture
I have partaken in numerous, fun social events which vary from charity fundraisers, consultant success off-sites and team/company-wide socials which allowed me to celebrate different achievements from many parts of the business. Day-to-day, the Office environment has been a refreshing change from remote learning/working and the Sales function in the business is very energetic, engaging and thought-provoking.
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed my placement in almost every sense. The teams I have worked within, the culture of the company and the opportunities to engage in exciting projects and social opportunities. The duties of the role fall more under administrative and visualisation tasks which is slightly different to my expectations from an 'analytical' role but there have been some analytical pieces of work and overall I have been challenged in many scenarious throughout the year.
Yes
Take heed of all interview/cv advice that you get regardless of the stage which you get to in the process. The knowledge of the company in this sense is invaluable for your future prospects. Embrace the full culture of the company regardless of what department/stream you apply for - the culture is fun and engaging if you choose to immerse yourself. I would love to have known how varied the task in my job would've been but I feel like the training allowed me to meet all obstacles still. AC advice is as simple as knowing about the company and how you can benefit the department/stream that you're applying for. Use real-life examples!
