Overview
The role involves developing and maintaining various software components of the company. A typical day will involve a few meetings related to the team's project - the meetings focus on catching up with the rest of the team, planning the projects, and retrospective sessions at the end of sprints.
Skills
Alongside the new technical skills required for development, I also learned how to work within a team using agile methods. This involves extensive communication within your team as well as with the rest of the people working.
Responsibilities
The project done is a real one - it is not a simulation or practice exercise. We simply joined an existing team and helped them with the project they were doing, giving us real responsibility during our internship.
Support & Guidance
There are numerous support and guidance services - your manager, your "buddy" for more informal questions, your mentor, as well as other services throughout the company to help you with any issues you may have.
Culture
Very relaxed - there is not a strict dress code nor is there anybody keeping track of how long your lunch is, what time you come in, etc. Everybody is very friendly yet professional, you can always find somebody to talk to.
Your Impressions
Was very enjoyable, would highly recommended it.
Yes
Be authentic and open to network. They are not only looking for people that have extensive experience and technical skills, but also people that are willing to learn and network.
