Overview
You work within a team (or multiple teams depending on how many clients you are booked to) to support with an audit. Day to day you do a variety of tasks depending on the stage of the audit and what needs to be done. the majority of time is spent on data analysis tasks.
Skills
The internship develops your accountancy and data analysis skills, as well as teamwork skills as you work with a wide variety of different people. It also develops your business acumen in general.
Responsibilities
I was given as much responsibility as is possible in audit. Regulation and internal processes do put a restriction on the tasks you can carry out independently, but in these instances you can always ask to shadow a more senior team member carry out the task.
Support & Guidance
You are given a career coach, buddy, and main contact on your team. All of these provide a specific type of support and are always available. beyond this support network, you can ask anyone for support (which is made especially easy with the hot desk policy)
Culture
The culture is incredibly open and friendly; everyone is willing to help anyone with anything.
