Overview
I was allocated to an audit team working on live client work. Day to day, I would be involved in a variety of tasks such as preparing audit notes, sitting in on client meetings and taking minutes as well as having the opportunity to spend a day on the client site.
Skills
I have developed a plethora of skills during my internship in particular communication and time management. I have had the opportunity to interact with colleagues of differing seniority across the firm and gain a better understanding of their role and responsibilities. My time management has also significantly improved as there have been instances where I have been working on numerous tasks each with their own deadlines.
Responsibilities
Definitely! During my internship, I have been able to take ownership of work assigned to me and subsequently report my findings to my colleagues.
Support & Guidance
I would never hesitate to reach out to a colleague be it with the work I was given or generic queries as they were always happy to answer any questions. There is an excellent support system in place as every intern is allocated a buddy and career coach which always make you feel reassured.
Culture
PwC has a reputation for putting its people and culture at the heart of its operations which is arguably the main reason I applied to the firm. There are always opportunities and initiatives to get involved with allowing you to meet new people and push yourself out of your comfort zone whilst also having fun!
Your Impressions
No two days are ever the same which always made the internship feel varied and interesting. Working alongside my client team and fellow interns was always a pleasure and I have fond memories and created long-lasting friendships no doubt. I was elated when I found out I had been offered a graduate role and I cannot wait to rejoin PwC upon graduating from university!
Yes
Be yourself! The ability to showcase a genuine interest for the role you are applying to will no doubt place you in good stead for being successful in the application process and being offered a place.
