Overview
My role as a Climate and sustainability Intern involves assisting the consultants in the team with reviewing of , reports and document. Attending of client calls and meeting to be able to understand and familiarise myself with the projects they are working on. I also have lots of team meeting with individual team members . Here they talk me through the projects they are working on and on how Arup is involved in the, their live in Arup and their progression
Skills
Yes, I have learnt new skills such as communication and interpersonal skills, How to work in a fast paced setting, I have also improved in my ability to take notes while while meetings are going on. I have also picked up new IT skills too
Responsibilities
Yes I was, I was given the opportunity to work on high profile projects and to sit in meetings with important clients and get to read, review and report on documents
Support & Guidance
I got the best support and guidance any intern can as for.. I was attached to 2 members of the team who acts as my buddy all through the placement. They where of much help as I get support from them for whatever issue I may have get by in the office and with my work as an intern
Culture
Arup has a strong communication , engaging and inclusive culture which is great and welcoming. Everyone was ready to share information and to dedicate there time to put me through and difficulties.
Your Impressions
I really did enjoy my time at Arup, as i had the opportuning to work in different teams in the Climate and Sustainability services , which is excellent for me as i got to have an insight and hands on experiences of the projects done and how it is been done. The staff where also great people altogether which made going to Arup London office interesting and fun
Yes
Arup is proud of the work and impact they make in the society, so I advice to do your research on Arup for the position you want to apply for, read about them and be open to learn because they are always will to teach or give out information for both your personal and career growth
