Overview
I was assigned to an engagement team, so the client varies but I believe the work is quite similar - working on ITGC and ITAC audits, documentation, organising and attending client meetings, etc.
Skills
My Excel proficiency has definitely increased as I hardly used it before this internship. Furthermore, I was given the opportunity to take e-learnings towards any subject of my choosing e.g. cloud computing
Responsibilities
I was tasked with quite a few work papers, and was responsible for being the primary point of contact for a few clients, which is significantly more responsibility than I was expecting! (a good thing)
Support & Guidance
Although the engagement team was very accessible, I mainly worked with a grad and senior consultant and they were incredibly helpful, attentive and patient with me, without it being overbearing or like they were spoonfeeding me which I greatly appreciated
Culture
the people here are incredibly friendly, which I think they pride themselves on. It's nothing like I ever imagined - a complete 180 from the corporate culture I was expecting, and which I've heard exists at other firms. Everyone understands the importance of collaboration and warmth in creating a positive working environment
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it - the work felt meaningful, the people were lovely and I felt excited to go in every day
