Overview
I worked in Client Development and I also worked closely with Sales, where I was supporting the CSE’s with pipeline generation and lead generation. Within my team I supported the CSP’s with general work around the team as well as helping them with more specific work like structuring of business reviews
Skills
I have developed my networking skills as well as learned how to structure and prioritise my workload better. I now know how to take my time with projects and also when needed to make sure they are always before the deadline
Responsibilities
I was given lots of responsibility during my placement, however it came after I asked for it. I was proactive and worked closely with sales in some very important projects that were business critical
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support during my placement year, and was always able to reach out to people if I needed help with anything specific
Culture
The culture is fantastic, it genuinely feels like a family here at SAP and I would be so happy to come back and work here in the future. There is constant support and guidance should you need it, and I felt comfortable at all times to ask for help
Your Impressions
My placement started off quite slowly, as the workload was not quite there, however after using my initiative, I found more work with another department in sales and was immediately given a lot of responsibility and was able to show my skills to the wider team.
Yes
I would say that it is important to know what you are interested in. I was honest from the very start that Sales was an interest of mine and that was immediately taken very seriously and I was given the opportunity to work in other teams
