Overview
My role as a communications associate for EMEA North and South includes social media posting, event management for internal and partner events both in-person and virtually, email communications (announcements, celebration etc), podcast hosting etc. liaising with a global team.
Skills
Public speaking, project management, negotiation, copywriting, social media writing, commercial awareness
Responsibilities
Yes, over time they trusted me more and more and I was able to own certain projects. I really felt valuable to my team and that I was able to leave my mark on the business.
Support & Guidance
The programme leads were absolutely amazing. Any issue I was able to talk freely through with them and they were always available to offer advice. There’s opportunity for mentorship outside of your team as well as support from your line manager and colleagues. It’s also lovely to be a part of a large intern cohort who can also support you.
Culture
A great culture, super friendly and work/life balance focused. Only comment would be the lack of women in leadership positions, as well as some more old fashioned thinking but that’s where the interns become more valuable in pushing a different ethos.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship experience - I’m sad to leave!
Yes
Make sure you say yes to every opportunity, learn as much as you can, make as many connections as possible and leave a legacy behind!
