Overview
I worked with a team on a client project. I was given a manager, counsellor and buddy. My manager oversaw my work, my counsellor was a manager who was there to support me in a pastoral capacity. My buddy was a grad who was a friendly face to have around the office and to ask any questions to.
Skills
Developed my presentation skills and my powerpoint skills. I learnt excel skills and developed my ability to work within a team.
Responsibilities
Not really which I think is good, any work I did went to those above me to check meaning I wasn't afraid to do anything wrong.
Support & Guidance
So much, the student recruitment team were always there throughout, with weekly check-in calls. My buddy and counsellor were both incredibly helpful and welcoming, meaning I have felt very at home in the office
Culture
Very welcoming and inclusive. I have felt very at home in the office and have made lots of connections with grads, managers, senior managers etc
Your Impressions
I loved it. My manager was on leave for quite a lot of it so I ended up having to search around for other work, but this meant I made lots of connections with other people across the Enterprise Risk team. I felt so supported and included into the business and felt very cared about
Yes
Take all opportunities with open arms!
