Overview
I sit in the rural team at Worcester. From day one I was thrown plenty of interesting and varied work. I have worked with estate management on landlord and tenant matters. Carried out valuations of land and property with valuations. Also, assisted with the sale of land with agency. My time is split in and out of the office and I am encouraged to go out as much as possible.
Skills
I have learnt several new skills relating to rural surveying including how to structure a red book valuation and how to draw up heads of terms for a FBT to name two. It has also massively increased my confidence and communication skills in a professional environment.
Responsibilities
I was given lots of responsibility, I often went to meet contractors or clients by myself. I was given fee earning work to do and allowed to get on with it by myself. I also was given the responsibility of talking to potential purchasers of land when they had enquiries.
Support & Guidance
Everybody was very friendly and were always happy to help if I had questions.
Culture
Very friendly and welcoming. Everybody seems to enjoy they work they do and there is a general positive atmosphere in the office. I was invited on two away days where I was able to meet people from other departments and offices in the company which again made me feel very welcome.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my placement and could see myself working for the company in the future.
Yes
Be open and friendly they want nice people as well as competent people. The interview is very relaxed so make the most of the opportunity to ask questions.
