Overview
Property management involves liaising with clients and landlords about the general management of commercial buildings. This could be determining the service charge budget, which determines the service charge the tenants would pay for the upkeep of the property and communal areas. You will get to look around some very cool buildings and have meetings with big clients. Client relationships are very important in this role so interpersonal skills are important.
Skills
I have gained good technical knowledge of key regulations and frequently used terms. I have gained a understanding of how to analyse and summarise a lease. I have developed my professional social skills - networking is very important in this industry.
Responsibilities
As you become more familiar with the job and gain more industry knowledge then you will gain more responsibilities.
Support & Guidance
My team were all extremely friendly and always welcome to help. The general feeling within the whole company is that you could literally go up to anyone for support and they will be more than happy to help.
Culture
The company culture is very sociable - you will definitely have a good time. The working hours could be long but no different to any job. The general atmosphere is very friendly and everyone wants the best.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship. All the fellow interns were all really nice and a lot of fun. Everyone within the business has been supportive and allowed me to learn as much as I can within my time here. Hopefully I will come back in the future.
