Overview
Assist the team I was assigned to with whatever tasks they may have. Often attended visitations to sites with clients and members of the team.
Skills
Learned lots about the real estate/ property industry and what the job of a surveyor is. Sharpened my research and excel skills. Definitely improved my communication skills meeting new people and trying to make a good impression.
Responsibilities
Mixed, many tasks were relatively low level. However they were always necessary for the deal to be completed and hence the task always seemed necessary and helpful for the wider operation.
Support & Guidance
There was very limited training from the team however it was largely soft skills that were necessary for the job.
Culture
Very wholesome company culture, opportunities for social events and generally very friendly atmosphere around the office. Office is open plan with people hot-desking as many choose to work from home, so you may find yourself sat next to a director one day.
Your Impressions
Generally enjoyable with sufficient interesting work and responsibilities to encourage engagement with the role. Junior members of the team were very friendly and made the time enjoyable.
Yes
Meet and build relationships with as many people as you can there.
