Overview
Had the opportunity to network through the firm and found myself into a team in the Pharma Life Sciences division, in the more strategy consulting side. On a day to day, I would be assigned tasks which allowed me to take full responsibility for. Both my powerpoint & excel skills grew rapidly as well as my logical thinking.
Skills
Powerpoint & Excel skills have grown rapidly, as well as networking skills which I soon realised were extremely important. Also the idea of independence and ownership of tasks and how to think logically to complete them
Responsibilities
Yes, I would be given ownership of tasks and then would check in with senior colleagues throughout the process to make sure I was on the right track, however there was a lot of creative license for myself to grow!
Support & Guidance
Lots of support. Not only were my team very friendly and would answer any questions I had, but I had a buddy who I could ask more informal questions to as well as a career coach who really wanted me to succeed.
Culture
Everyone was friendly and ambitious
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it and would love to work with the firm again and the people I worked alongside
Yes
Don't be nervous applying from a non business/ finance backgound. Take the initiative i.e. if you are dissatisfied with your project or don't have much work, then network and try and find more!
