Overview
First week was an induction to the firm. There was lots of networking with other interns and intro talks from key figures. The second and third weeks were spent in two different legal teams, I was given trainee level tasks to complete.
Skills
Communication skills, networking skills, technical legal skills.
Business Insight
Fantastic insight, everyone was willing to have a chat about their experience at DLA, no matter how senior they were. Lots of roles and avenues to explore. Great international opportunities and lots of different networks to get involved in. Great pro bono initiatives too.
Culture
Really warm and inclusive culture. Everyone acted as if you were on the same level, not stuffy/traditional atmosphere of partners being too senior to talk. Everyone was really easy to get along with and happy to help with any questions/worries you may have.
Your Impressions
Thoroughly enjoyed it, cannot think of a better firm in terms of high end work combined with a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

Understand the firms values and practice areas. Research an area of law you are interested in and stay up to date with it. Most importantly, be yourself.
