Overview
The internship was four weeks in length and was thoroughly useful. Day-to day, I had various talks from many departments which gave good insights into the whole market. I went on sight visits and worked on surveys, reports and correspondence letters.
Skills
I was completely new to property, so I feel like I have learnt many skills. I was involved in a job from start to finish to help me get a grasp of every section of the work. I have also much further developed my excel skills which was the basis of our report.
Business Insight
I learnt that there were many different departments to apply to through the department overview meetings. I also discovered how there are many non-cognate applicants which was very useful information as that had worried me prior to application.
Culture
I loved the company, there are so many brilliant schemes both financial and non-financial. There were many extracurricular activities and networking opportunities. Great atmosphere.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole insight as I learnt so many skills and had many opportunities. It was a perfect length to give me an idea of the market and business.
Yes
Don't worry if you're non-cognate! This was the main thing for me, it really does not matter at all, many interns were non-cognate and like me had no property background but that didn't matter. it was a great experience. Make sure the cover letter is well written.
