Overview
My role as management trainee was to assist my managers and teammates to ensure the day runs smoothly. I would mainly serve customers, deliver and collect vehicles, as well as completing admin work such as reservation management and ensuring strong communication with customers and businesses.
Skills
I have learnt new skills such as professional networking, leadership and project management. And built upon existing skills like communication, customer service and team working.
Responsibilities
Throughout the year I experienced gaining more responsibility in different areas of the day to day functions. Starting with captaincy roles around the core areas of customer service and debt control. At the end of the role I was taking on assistant manager responsibilities, preparing me for taking the next step in the company.
Support & Guidance
There was constant guidance from my entire team, as well as this, monthly 1 to 1s with the branch manager to reflect on areas I needed to discuss and improve on to continue my development. Enterprise employs a mentor program which allocates the trainee a more experienced employee from a different branch, which allows them to get a different perspective and point of view.
Culture
The culture was one of the companies core values, "we work hard and reward hard work" which was transparent from the offset.
Your Impressions
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I came out with lots of new skills and attributes that I can use to progress my career.
Yes
Use your time to get as much exposure to the business as possible. There are so many opportunities in the company it would be a shame to let them go to waste!
