Overview
Working with the brands to provide and monitor forecasts and support on the financial side of business cases for proposed products.
Skills
Massively developed team working and communication, a lot of the role was about using the numbers to tell a story to someone not familiar with finance. Also excel and PowerPoint were key tools in doing so
Responsibilities
Yes after getting to know the team and settling in they were more than happy to let me lead on supporting a brand or complete monthly reporting activities
Support & Guidance
A lot, managers were more than happy to invest time to teach and Unilever has a massive online learning platform.
Culture
Very relaxed and lacking of hierarchy, the focus was more on results. This meant that hours were quite flexible but you could end up working late to close a project but equally you could take those hours back and finish early another day.
Your Impressions
It was very rewarding but did take a lot of hard work to get there.
Yes
The most important thing is being a team player and working with others
