    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I have been carrying out various research projects, presentations, leading calls and generally learning more about financial crime and what my placement team are focused on achieving. This requires me to attend numerous meetings each day and often I am required to reach out to individuals from other teams for further information. I have also been carrying out intern based activities in groups with other interns that work on my problem solving and presentation skills.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • My presentation skills have been further developed through my internship with the amount of presenting on calls, meetings and pitches I have been required to do. I have also developed my IT skills through the use of a variety of applications relating to my job area of financial crime. I have also gained very useful experience of what it is like to work in a business environment with hybrid working and collaboration across teams.

  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group
  • I would recommend others to be themselves during the interview and assessment process as it is just as much about your personality as your skills and previous experience. I would also recommend people to try to take as many of the opportunities offered to them as possible whilst on placement as they can all provide a unique experience and personal development opportunities. I was inspired to join NatWest based on positive feedback from others and the corporate culture displayed by the bank.
