Overview
When in Sales I was in store starting at either 5am or 1pm. These shifts were fast paced and involved being on your feet all day, helping customers and making sure that the shop was clean and tidy. When in Logistics, my shifts would vary significantly depending on department but I was normally on early shifts, leading teams and shadowing managers. Then when in HR, I would arrive at the office, check emails, organise Welcome Events and attend meetings.
Skills
I have learnt so many skills throughout my time in Lidl. I have learnt to have professional confidence, leadership, determination and so much more.
Responsibilities
Considering a placement year is only one year, I didn't expect to get that much out of it however, I feel that throughout the placement I was given huge amounts of responsibility. For example, running a team of up to 20 people, opening up the store by myself, and organising and carrying out events.
Support & Guidance
The support that Lidl colleagues give throughout the placement is invaluable.
Culture
The culture and atmosphere in each rotation was extremely positive, and I felt completely like everyone was accepted for who they were.
Your Impressions
I felt that I got everything I could out of this year and I'm extremely happy with all the new skills I have developed. I have thoroughly enjoyed this year with Lidl.
