  • Was difficult as manager barely came into the office and rest of the team were in another IBM location.

  • I had to go and find extra work. Luckily for marketing students there is a Marketing community where you can request extra work in different areas.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • IBM Bedfont has around 60 students? This will change over the years but very close to SouthBank and so it's easy to meet with them too.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Rent is better than in Oxford area - currently paying £310 each (apart from one paying less) for a house with 5 other people.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Mainly go out to London Kingston or Windsor. Life in Staines/Feltham/Ashford isn't too great - a few good pubs and restaurants though.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, people got involved in a football tournament, plenty of gyms around, London is very close. Lots of charity work you can do with IBM eg. science days with schools or reading to younger children.
