A project analyst in Commercial and Merchant Servicing working on a project to improve merchant communications. This includes meeting with a variety of stakeholders for the project, organizing information, and presenting recommendations to leaders.
Skills
Improved both written and verbal communication. Worked on presentation and excel skills. Gained confidence in working in a corporate environment.
Responsibilities
We were given lots of responsibility in our roles. I was in charge of running a project and communicating with stakeholders, including VP's.
Support & Guidance
I received a large amount of support from a variety of teams over the internship. I had weekly meetings with a member of the colleague development team, a graduate buddy, and weekly meetings with my line manager. There was a lot of support through all stages of the internship.
Culture
The company culture is very inclusive and supportive. I was honestly surprised by how nice everyone in the office was. The culture and general atmosphere creates a brilliant work environment making AmEx a really nice place to work.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship, from both a colleague development and a specific team point of view. My project really suited my interests and gave me a lot of responsibility, allowing me to gain a real understanding to the department. There were a range of opportunities set up by the colleague development team from meetings with Senior VP's to a range of fun social events.
Yes
One thing I have noticed at AmEx is that they are very people centered. When applying I would honestly just say to be yourself and let your personality shine through. Demonstrating confidence and personality will help the hiring leaders see if you are a good fit for the company.
