Overview
The summer placement programme involves two team projects. One is a bridge design competition and the other is a greener and better project where we research alternative sustainable solutions in the construction industry. I get put on billable work as well were I help on multiple project. I am adding bridges into a arcadis database
Skills
I have developed better communication skills by communicating with engineers at different levels. I now have a better understanding and practical application of engineering I have learnt new skills such as management and leadership. I have learnt new technical and software skills
Responsibilities
Yes a lot more than i thought i would have been given. My team have a lot of trust in me and if I made a mistake in my workings they would explain to me where I went wrong and helped resolve the problem
Support & Guidance
Everyone was very supportive and they are many people I can turn to for guidance. My line manager is very helpful and makes sure I am always happy with how things are going.
Culture
The culture and general atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Everyone is friendly and makes an effort to make sure I was happy and enjoying the summer placement.

I would advice people to ask as many questions as possible and to make the most of their experience at arcadis and try get involved in as much as you can.
